dont be shy girl go bananza, shake ya body like a bellydancer!

yesterday i registered for Tribal Revolution in chicago. its a big bellydance convention/workshop/thing in june and i am SO excited! im taking all three of ariellahs classes, a class with UNMATA, and one with deb rubin. plus attending the friday night hafla and the saturday night gala show. not to mention ill have downtime to go sightseeing :) bellydance + ariellah + chicago = AMAZING!!! i cant freaking wait XD

i also bought some pants and a top for bellydance class. so excited to get these, theyre my first "official" bellydance clothes lol. up til now ive been wearing tshirts and yoga pants. which are perfectly serviceable, but not nearly as fun to wear lol.

yea if you cant tell, im slightly obsessed with my new hobby XD

im super tired and yet here i am, staying up way too late online, even though facebook/MIL activity is pretty slow and consequentially i am bored out of my mind. blah.

ive been super lethargic all day; even though we lock the cats up at night so i can get a full nights uninterrupted sleep (theyre loud and wild as fuck at night and when we dont lock them up they wake me up like every hour) im still tired in the morning, because mitch lets them out when he wakes up (around 0600) and they come upstairs and attack my feet under the covers and get all up in my face and whatnot and when im not going to bed until 0100 this early-morning wake up is not appreciated.
wow...sorry for that massive run-on sentence lol. my junior high english teacher, bless her overly-mascara'ed lashes, is probably somewhere having a stroke. i swear that woman can detect poor grammar anywhere.

the mckeowns are coming over this weekend, which is awesome. we havent seen them since.....god, before thanksgiving i think! and i miss them. but the tired part of me is dreading having company because that means i actually have to clean and do laundry tomorrow and go into hostess mode and im honestly just not feelin it right now. i dont feel like doing anything, and having people over is work. no matter how much i love and miss them.

so since mitch is ACAPing right now - pretty much means he goes to PT in the morning and thats IT - hes home all day every day (at least while im awake). this would seem like a wonderful thing, a blessing to have my husband home with me, right? actually its starting to drive me nuts. i love him to death and all, but i also like having my quiet alone time. its not even like hes obnoxiously loud either, unless hes playing on the xbox. when hes home i dont have the luxury of laying on the couch and watching chick flicks without him bitching about it (i could go upstairs and watch them in the bedroom, but well...i just dont like to). i cant just lay on the couch and enjoy the quiet and read a book because he HAS to have some sort of background noise...which usually consists of "yes dear" and "everybody loves raymond" and other various sitcoms. and i dont know if you know this about me, but i am generally NOT a fan of sitcoms. drives me absolutely nuts. i love my husband, but sometimes i wish he would get called up for staff duty (24-hour work day, for those of you not affiliated with a servicemember lol) or something. anything so that i can have some relaxing alone time without going somewhere. listening to my ipod and doing crossword puzzles at starbucks, while fun, just isnt as nice as laying on the couch reading a good book.

i love the history channel and the discovery channel. i guess im a nerd like that...and im okay with it :) but lately, there has been NOTHING but various programs and documentaries on ancient egypt, king tut, and the like. now dont get me wrong, i do enjoy ancient egyptian history, but im starting to get bored of it. lets have something on the ancient celts, or medieval europe, or feudal japan.....SOMETHING different! please!

i am craving mexican food

like nobodys business. its ridiculous. im watching food network and guy fieri is making this orgasmic-looking quesadilla. i want chips and guac/salsa/queso, fajitas, quesadillas, chimichangas (i dont know what they are but i want them anyway lol), enchiladas, tacos, burritos, and lots and lots of strawberry margaritas :) and the worst part about this, is that even though there are a few mexican restaurants around here...mitch HATES mexican food!! :'( but we *should* be home by the time cinco de mayo rolls around, and ill be damned if im not goin out that night!! XD tine, you with me?

love is anterior to life,
posterior to death,
initial of creation, and
the exponent of breath.

~ XXXVII, emily dickinson

only he knows the bitterness of love
who has deeply felt its pangs.
when you are in toruble
no one comes near you:
when fortune smiles,
all come to share the joy.
love shows no external wound,
but the pain pervades every pore...
~ 192, mirabai

Long as the day in the summer time
Deep as the wine dark sea
I'll keep your heart with mine.
Till you come to me...
...And in the night when our dreams are still
Or when the wind calls free
I'll keep your heart with mine
Till you come to me.

felling any foe with my gaze

im in a random creative mood where i want to draw. problem is, i have no drawing paper. and even if i did.....i suck at drawing >.<

mitch has recently introduced me to the majesty that is firefly and serenity. several people have told me they tried to get me to watch it before, but i dont remember lol. anyway yea.....FANFUCKINGTASTIC!!! i want inaras entire wardrobe. and i ♥ kaylee. and i have "hero of canton" stuck in my head.

almost done reading pompeii by robert harris. historical fiction is my favorite genre, but this isnt one of the better HF books ive read. i mean it was good, decent storyline and everything, but its not one that ill be spending my money on.

ive been thinking a lot lately about how i want to decorate our house...when we finally have a house lol. the living room will be white and black, and i want damask-print wallpaper. our room will be an asian zen theme, with cream and sage and tan (i REALLY like this bedding: the library will be deep reds gold and purples, with a moroccan/middle eastern vibe. i havent decided what i want the kitchen to look like yet, maybe a rustic country feel? im obviously not one of those people who has one theme for the entire house...that would just get boring XD

okay, enough rambling. sorry to bore you :)

oh ps i just wanted to give a shoutout to my lovely wonderful and amazing fellow military SOs!! i love all yall!! :kisses:

winter solstice with ~ariellah~

omg it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!! i was one of like 2 beginners in a class of probably 30 advanced dancers.....needless to say i hid in the back lol. we did a lot of drills and then combos which went really fast and i tripped over my own feet and i am nowhere even CLOSE to being near as good as ariellah is lol, but in time, in time. workshop lasted 3 hours, and im sore as heck. totally worth it though! left, killed some time at the mall, then went to the performance and OMG! i want to be a bellydancer when i grow up ^_^ seriously, the dancers were all incredible, but of course ariellah blew them all out of the water. i adore her. and i got to talk to her and she is SO incredibly nice! the performances were incredible and i had a FANTASTIC seat - like front & center! i had an amazing time :) now on my list of things to do: find a good tribal/dark fusion instructor in columbus!
